WinSesame is a security software to password protect folders on the hard disk, network, CD, and external drives on Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP, Vista computers.

WinSesame Classic works in english, french and spanish. You can change the language from de Options dialog box.

Hide your data from inquisitive eyes on your hard disk, Cd-Rom, external drives or for the transfer by Internet of complete and confidential files and folders. Just right click on a folder and choose "Lock with WinSesame". Choose the password, the file is locked. Now the opening of the folder requires the password. The data contained in the locked folder are encrypted by an absolutely unbreakable process and the length of the password is not limited. To close again the folder, no need to provide the password again because this one remains associated with this folder although not readable in the computer when the folder is locked. Moreover you can close and lock with only on click all the protected folders you have opened on your computer. WinSesame allows you to create distributable CDRoms with access protected by password. 
Description: (texts in widows and menus depend of the selected language)

1: Right Click on the folder you want to lock and choose Lock with WinSesame. 

2: Enter the password of your choice to protect this folder (the length is not limited). 

3: The icon of the folder is modified to indicate that this one is locked. The files contained in this folder are encrypted by an absolutely unbreakable powerful process. The password used does not appear anywhere (lost key system).

4: To open a protected folder, double click on this one and enter the password. 

5: You can now work on the files contained in this folder. All the files are accessible.

 To close again and lock again this folder, proceed as at the first stage but it is not necessary to provide again the password associated with this folder. Locking is instantaneous. Moreover you can instantaneously lock all the protected folders open on your computer with a simple click on the WinSesame icon located on your desktop or in the Start menu even if the folders were not protected with the same password.

The Options dialog box enables you to configure the program according to your preferences.

You can memorize your password if you want to use always the same one for all your locked foldres. This password is memorized only for the user profile having recorded it. You can configure the program so that it uses automatically the password memorized. Although not offering the maximum level of protection on the computer, this method can be used if you wish to protect only data on external drives or Cd-Rom or to protect the data from unauthorized access from the network or the other users of the computer. In this case the protected folders open on this computer by the authorized user as normal folders but as long as they are closed they remain locked and encrypted for all the  users of the computer or the access by the network. 

You can choose a channel of encrypting. The channel of encrypting is a second encoding being added to encoding by the key and still reinforcing the level of protection. You can choose a channel from 1 to 99999. The files can be open only with the password on a computer using the same channel of encrypting as the one used for encoding. 

You can also choose the language in which the program is displayed from this dialog box.

The maximum size of the folders you can lock with the free version is limited. If you do not have too many large volumes of data to protect, this program is offered to you and does not have time limitation. From the free version, you can then buy a license to cancel this limitation for only 29 Euros or 38 dollars.
